media forum münster
The medienforum münster e. V. is a media association based in the independent city of Münster in Westphalia . The association was founded in 1986 with the aim of promoting media participation and media competence. This is done, among other things, by providing production aids and further training opportunities for citizens who would like to make contributions to public radio. The association also manages the business of the Münsteraner Radiowerkstätten consortium , an amalgamation of the four production facilities for community radio in Münster, and thus also represents the interests of community radio groups and radio workshops vis-à-vis the local broadcaster Antenne Münster , on whose frequency VHF 95.4 the community radio broadcasts daily becomes.
Supraregional importance
The medienforum münster e. V. is the managing body of the Landesverband Bürgerfunk NRW e. V. (LBF) and also maintains the regional office of the LBF. In this context, the association performs an interface function for many radio workshops in North Rhine-Westphalia , which represent their interests in the LBF vis-à-vis state politics as well as the State Agency for Media North Rhine-Westphalia or the operating companies and organizers of local radio stations.
Media literacy network
Since August 2003 the medienforum münster e. V. one of the sponsors of Mekomnet - the Münster media competence network. In this city-wide network, 18 media work institutions have so far joined together as partners via an internet portal and a coordination office. Between 2003 and 2006, Mekomnet was funded by the State Agency for Media in North Rhine-Westphalia as one of two state-wide pilot projects for local media competence networks.
