Antenne Münster (own spelling: ANTENNE MÜNSTER , RDS: MUENSTER ) is a commercial radio station for the city of Münster in Westphalia .

Companies

Antenne Münster went on air for the first time on September 29, 1991 under the name "radio AM" with presenter Stefan Feldhof. Stefan Nottmeier has been editor-in-chief since 2007.

An operating company is responsible for the economic and technical operation of the station, 75 percent of which is held by the local newspaper publishers and 25 percent by the municipality. The publishers of the Westfälische Nachrichten and Münsterschen Zeitung are involved in the operating company , as well as the Stadtwerke Münster. Peter Härtl is the managing director. He is also the managing director of Münsterländische Medien Service GmbH & Co. KG (MMS), which also looks after the neighboring stations Radio RST (Steinfurt district) and Radio WMW (Borken district).

As a radio broadcaster under private law, Antenne Münster finances itself exclusively from the private sector through advertising income generated by broadcasting commercials, special forms of advertising, special programs and event marketing.

The program is broadcast on VHF on 95.4 MHz ( Telecommunications Tower Münster , 160 W) and on the local radio cable on 91.2 MHz. The station can also be received via an Internet live stream. The radio program is broadcast via the broadcast tower on Wolbecker Straße. While the broadcast studios were initially located at Kerstingskamp in Münster-Kinderhaus , they have meanwhile moved to Nevinghoff in the Zentrum Nord industrial estate.

With around 80,000 listeners per day, Antenne Münster is the most listened to radio program in the city of Münster, which achieved a listener rate of 32% in 2015, placing it ahead of 1 Live (27%) and WDR 2 (19%). Together with around 40,000 listeners from the Münsterland, Antenne Münster reaches around 120,000 listeners daily. In July 2016, Antenne Münster continued to reach 37% of Münster radio listeners as the most listened radio program in the city and the surrounding area. Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. in 2016, an average of 32,500 listeners tuned into the program, which gave the station the second best coverage in its history.
