Hellweg Radio is the local station for the Soest district and went on air for the first time on July 1, 1990 .

History and structure

construction

In addition to the operating company, the transmitter is run by the local radio operator association in the Soest district (VG). It includes representatives of relevant groups from the Soest district. According to the state media law of North Rhine-Westphalia, VG takes on the position of employee for the editorial office for local radio in the district of Soest and is responsible for the broadcaster's program. The operating company includes the newspaper publishers Westfälischer Anzeiger , and Der Patriot (Laumann-Druck) as well as the Soest district and the city of Warstein. It is economically responsible for the broadcaster in accordance with the employment and economic plan agreed annually with the broadcasting association. The program is funded through local and national advertising and not through fees.

Chief editor

The first editor-in-chief was Georg Hesse, who was followed in 1991 by Ewald Prünte. Ruth Heinemann has been the station's editor-in-chief since 1995 .

Local broadcasts

Hellweg Radio's daily program from Monday to Friday consists of the program 'Am Morgen' from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and the program 'Am Afternoon' from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Saturday morning begins with 'On the weekend' from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and after 'JoWi' (Jobs and Economy) from 12:00 p.m., the program 'Die Charts'. On Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the program 'On the weekend' is broadcast, with results and reports of domestic sporting events being broadcast in the afternoon edition, mainly football reports and results of the teams from the Soest district.

Every half hour on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Hellweg Radio broadcasts local news from the Soest district. On Saturdays and Sundays, local news is broadcast every half hour during local programs.

Citizen radio

From Monday to Saturday from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., 'Radio Lippeland eV' broadcasts the so-called community radio on the frequencies of Hellweg Radio . This program is not designed by the Hellweg Radio editorial team, but by independent groups and associations from the Soest district. They are also responsible for the content of the broadcasts in accordance with the State Broadcasting Act for NRW. 'Radio Lippeland eV' provides the necessary technology and space for this and supports the producing groups in the production of the programs. Supporting program

Hellweg Radio is the market leader in the Soest district, ahead of WDR programs .
