Radio Euskirchen is the local radio for the Euskirchen district . The station was first activated on August 31, 1997 . The studios are located at Rheinstrasse 55 in Euskirchen.

Editor-in-chief is Norbert Jeub.

It is broadcast 24 hours a day. Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. “Am Morgen” is broadcast from Rheinstrasse. In addition to the world news on the hour, there is local news every half hour from Monday to Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. On these days, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., additional local content will be placed on two broadcast slots, but this will be recorded shortly beforehand and started remotely from the studio of the supporting program. During the rest of the broadcasting time, the supporting program is taken over by Radio NRW . While community radio was broadcast almost daily in the first few years , there are only a few broadcasts from production groups today.

The operator is "Radio Euskirchen GmbH & Co. KG". Dietmar Henkel is the managing director. Radio Euskirchen is marketed by Hörfunk Service GmbH , based in Cologne. Both are subsidiaries and a. of the M. DuMont Schauberg group .

Range

They are the market leader in the district . On weekdays (Mon-Fri), 28.8% of all people aged 14 and over in the area listen to the program. (Source: EMA NRW 2016 I)

Radio Euskirchen sends terrestrial three VHF - frequencies :

  • 99.7 MHz Euskirchen-Erlenhof (0.1 kW)
  • 106.9 MHz Schleiden-Broich (4 kW)
  • 107.4 MHz Bad Münstereifel (0.1 kW)

as well as in the cable network from Euskirchen to 87.65 MHz and from Schleiden to 105.65 MHz. While the transmitters in Euskirchen and Bad Münstereifel are only of local importance, the powerful 106.9 MHz frequency extends far into the Rhineland and Bergisches Land .

Since May 2016, UPLINK Network GmbH from Düsseldorf has been responsible for operating the VHF frequencies , which is replacing the Bundespost's successor, Media Broadcast , as part of a market liberalization .
