Radio Hochstift is the local radio for the Hochstift Paderborn region , i.e. the North Rhine-Westphalian districts of Paderborn and Höxter . It went on air in 1991 and got its license from the State Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia . Martin Lausen is the editor-in-chief.

program

The local radio broadcasts twelve hours of local programs on weekdays from its broadcasting studio on Frankfurter Weg in Paderborn. Four hours of this is taken by the morning show “Die Radio Hochstift-Morningshow” from 6 to 10 o'clock with Sinah Donhauser and Dania Tölle alternating. As with all local radio stations in East Westphalia, this was extended by one hour on April 1, 2008. This is followed by the routes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. under the motto "all day every day" / "always good to hear", primarily moderated by Tim Donsbach, Verena Hagemeier, Susanne Stork and Stefani Josephs. Between 6:30 am and 7:30 pm, Radio Hochstift broadcasts the local news program “Hochstift Aktuell”. Five hours of local programming will be broadcast on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Sunday, Radio Hochstift broadcasts three hours of local programming, namely from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is a “Radio Hochstift Extra” for the games of SC Paderborn 07 , which are broadcast via fade-ins.

The OWL-wide youth program deinfm is broadcast from the Gütersloh studio on Kahlertstrasse Monday to Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight and Sundays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The rest of the program including the world news on the hour gives the coat broadcaster Radio NRW . In return, Radio Hochstift broadcasts an advertising block for Radio NRW every hour.

Listeners

According to a regular survey , 46.2% of residents of the radio broadcasting area tuned into Radio Hochstift on weekdays in 2019. In comparison, the programs of the WDR in the broadcasting area for 1 live are 12.1%, for WDR 2 12.1% and WDR 4 16.1%.

Companies

According to the State Media Act of North Rhine-Westphalia, the programming responsibility for Radio Hochstift lies with the broadcasting association Radio Paderborn-Höxter e. V., which is composed of representatives of socially relevant groups in the district.

Radio Paderborn Betriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG is responsible for the economic situation . The newspaper publisher Neue Westfälische and the districts of Höxter and Paderborn are involved.

Most of the technical and business management tasks are outsourced to the full-service provider Audio Media Service (ams) based in Bielefeld .

Coat range

The rest of the program and the world news at the top of the hour are taken over by the broadcaster Radio NRW outside of local broadcast times. Radio NRW supplies 45 NRW local stations with a 24-hour program that can be accessed at any time. However, Radio Hochstift is prescribed a specific local broadcasting time by the State Agency for Media North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM). In return, Radio Hochstift sends an hourly advertising block from the NRW program. The music format is the Adult Contemporary (AC) prescribed by Radio NRW, which is aimed at 19 to 49-year-old listeners. The music selection is also largely given by Radio NRW. This also happens during local airtime. Radio NRW determines which title is shown at what time. The station identifier "Radio Hochstift" and similar IDs outside the local broadcasting times are automatically triggered by a remote control signal from Oberhausen in the mostly unoccupied broadcasting studio in Bielefeld at that time, as is common with all other local radio stations in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The programs are delivered via satellite. If reception is impaired in bad weather, the system automatically switches to an additional ISDN line to Oberhausen.

In the evening program "radio deinfm", OWL-wide headlines are broadcast every half hour. [1]

Two pillar model

The State Broadcasting Act in North Rhine-Westphalia prescribes the operation of local radio stations in the so-called two-pillar model. This model separates the program and economic responsibility with the aim of ensuring that the program does not lose its level or content due to journalistic or economic interests.
