Media conception

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Media conception is the practice and science of the targeted design of media offers. An alternative name is media design (transferred from the English: media design ).

object

Generally speaking, conception or design is used when an artificial object (artifact) is planned and designed in a targeted manner. The goal is always to influence human behavior and experience in a certain way. A systematic design of artifacts plays an important role in numerous scientific disciplines and related professions, for example in architecture (buildings), mechanical engineering (machines), in computer science (computer systems), in medicine and pharmacy (drugs), but also in the communication and media industry (media artifacts).

Media conception is not an established and traditional scientific discipline. It is used, for example, in various media-related science areas, such as design studies , media studies or communication studies, but also in practice-oriented fields such as media design .

The Furtwangen University is the first German university to offer an explicit bachelor's degree in media conception at the Faculty of Digital Media since the 2010/2011 winter semester.
