Bernad Batinic

Bernad Batinic (born June 21, 1969 in Vršac , Serbia ) is a Serbian psychologist in Austria.

Life

Between 1989 and 1995, Bernad Batinic studied psychology at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . He completed his doctorate on the subject of questionnaires on the Internet in 2001; in 2006 he qualified as a professor in psychology (both at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg ). Between 2003 and 2004 he was a substitute professor and head of the department for work and organizational psychology at the Philipps University of Marburg in the department of psychology.

Since 2005 he has been a university professor at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and head of the Institute for Education and Psychology of the University's Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences. There he heads the department for work, organizational and media psychology.

Together with Dr. In 1999, Lorenz Gräf and Jens Winiker founded the Globalpark GmbH in Hürth . The company developed software to manage online survey participants (OPST: Online Panel Site Tool) and to program online surveys (survey center).

Main areas of activity

His research focus lies at the interface between media and work and organizational psychology. His central research topics are: Interpersonal influence potential, internet-based data collection methods in market and opinion research, personnel and organizational development with new media as well as teaching and learning with new media and the importance of work - psychosocial effects of unemployment.

Bernad Batinic is the founder and head of the German Internet Research List and was spokesman for the board of the German Society for Online Research between 1998 and 2001 . He was also responsible for the first Internet survey FAQ published on Usenet in 1995 . The first WWW survey carried out in German-speaking countries can probably be traced back to him. In 1999 he and Klaus Moser organized the German Online Research Conference in Nuremberg as a local organizer. In 2000 he was the local representative for Germany for the Planet Projekt online survey, in which around 1.5 million people took part. Batinic publishes the book series Internet und Psychologie at Hogrefe Verlag , the last volume of which was published in 2007.

Batinic is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Respondi AG .
