The Mediterranean Film Festival Cannes is a film festival in Cannes .

The festival shows in contrast to the Cannes International Film Festival

  1. less commercializable films and
  2. more and more films from the Mediterranean , the Levant and the Middle East.

The festival first took place in 2016.

In 2017 the film Mermaid by Amir Masoud Aghababaeian received an award there.

In 2018, the Azerbaijani feature film "Schoellers Archive" by Jalaladdin Gasimov was one of the nominees.

In 2019, the Turkish film Soul of the Cities - Antakya was one of the nominees.
