The Mediterranean Historical Review has been published by Routledge since 1986 on behalf of the History Faculty of Tel Aviv University . It is one of the historical journals devoted exclusively to the Mediterranean . The time frame encompasses the entire history that can be made accessible through written sources . The founders were Yaakov Shavit, Elie Barnavi, Ehud Toledano and Ron Barkai.

The editors are Benjamin Arbel (until 2016), since then Zur Shalev, and Irad Malkin . The journal appears in June and December each year. The 31st year appeared in 2016.
