The Meereszentrum Fehmarn is a show aquarium in Burg on the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn . Sharks and tropical coral gardens are presented on an area of 3000 m² or in 4 million liters of sea water . In the 3 million liter ocean aquarium there are several types of sharks ( nurse shark , sand tiger shark , blacktip reef shark , lemon shark ). In a 0.4 million liter tank with an underwater tunnel there are rays and groupers . The tropical marine animals such as corals , jellyfish, seahorses and coral fish are presented in around 35 individual aquariums.

The accompanying exhibition focuses in particular on the life, senses and hunting of sharks, as well as the threat posed by humans. The Fehmarn Marine Center is a partner of the Sharkproject , an international initiative for the protection and research of sharks.

In February 2012, the Meereszentrum Fehmarn from Burg auf Fehmarn opened the Ostsee Geocenter and aquarium named Ostsee Erlebniswelt in Klaustorf near Großenbrode near Heiligenhafen.

You can see an exhibition on the history of the marine region and the aquarium. In the adventure world, developments up to the primeval and ice ages can be traced. Since June 2017, access for visitors to the former reconnaissance tower has been possible, where, in addition to the viewing platform with a café, exhibits from an art exhibition can also be seen.

The Bundeswehr was previously located at this location and operated the telecommunications section tower A as a military reconnaissance facility for various agencies and branches of service.
