A multi-purpose vehicle (MZF) is a fire service vehicle that can perform various tasks in an emergency. It is related to the crew transport vehicle (MTF) (especially the MTF with loading area), but usually has a larger load or is designed more for material transport.

Execution in the state of Bavaria

In Bavaria, the MZF is laid down in the technical guidelines of the Ministry of the Interior. It has an extensive load for small operations and is used for command of operations in small to medium-sized operations. It has at least one squadron crew (six people) and is also able to transport other operational resources according to local requirements. In Bavaria, the MZF is a standard vehicle for most fire brigades in small to medium-sized towns.

Execution in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate

In Rhineland-Palatinate , the vehicle is called “multi-purpose transport vehicle with loading aid” and is primarily used as a flexible supply vehicle. It is described in accordance with the Technical Guideline No. 5 of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
