The historic milestone in Darmstadt made of Odenwald red sandstone dates back to the 19th century. The big milestone is about 80 m southeast of the Böllenfalltor at the foot of the Herrgottsberg . The milestone is approx. 110 cm high and has a diameter of approx. 40 cm. The top is slightly arched.
It was originally located on Nieder-Ramstädter Chaussee (today: Nieder-Ramstädter Strasse or Bundesstrasse 449 ). Due to the shift of the country road around 1900 to the north, the stone is now a little off the road in the Darmstadt Ostwald.
The milestone is of architectural and urban history reasons under monument protection .
