My friend is a foreigner
My friend is foreigner was an initiative of the Bundesliga in the 1992/93 season . In order to set an example against the riots in Rostock-Lichtenhagen in August 1992, all Bundesliga clubs decided not to advertise their sponsors on their jerseys on the last preliminary round. The sponsor's lettering was replaced by the slogan “My friend is a foreigner” .
The German national soccer team also ran a one-time friendly match against a selection of foreign Bundesliga players with this slogan in October 1993.
On the third match day of the 2012/13 Bundesliga season , a similar initiative was carried out as part of the integration game day, when all 18 Bundesliga clubs again waived their jersey advertising and advertised with the slogan “ Go your way ” .
