Master Amund
Master Amund is one of the few Swedish painters of the Middle Ages who are known. His name is known from a signature from 1494 in the church of Södra Råda . Master Amund and his workshop are attributed to paintings in a dozen churches in western Sweden, including Gökhem , Kumlaby and Ask .
Amund's style is characterized by simply drawn figures in clear colors and area-filling plant ornaments. Narrative sequences of images from the Bible and the legends of saints are typical.
