Master of the Madonna of Ortisei
As Master of the Madonna of Ortisei which is unnamed sculptor called, the one in the late 13th century Madonna from sandstone has created. The painted figure is in the church of the former Benedictine monastery in St. Ulrich in the Black Forest . It comes from the previous church of this baroque building.
Two figures of St. Catherine in Freiburg im Breisgau , one in the portal hall of the cathedral tower and one in the Adelhauser Church of the Annunciation and St. Katharina show stylistic similarities with the Madonna of St. Ulrich; this could point to a connection between the Master of the Madonna of St. Ulrich and the Freiburg Minster Building .
