Master of the Würzburg Battle

A painter who painted a battle picture around 1514 is named as the master of the Würzburg battle . The painter, who is not known by name, got his emergency name after this depiction of a Landsknecht battle , which is now in the Martin von Wagner Museum at the University of Würzburg . The picture, painted in oil on wood, 109 cm wide and 126 cm high, is considered an outstanding work of the German Renaissance .
