Master of Bambino Vispo: Last Judgment, around 1422

The artist, not known by name, Meister des Bambino Vispo ( Master of the Lively Baby Jesus ) was a Gothic painter who may have worked in Florence in the early 15th century . He got his emergency name after the repeated depiction of a lively Jesus child (Italian Bambino Vispo ) in his pictures of Our Lady .

The Spanish painter Miguel Alcañiz or, more often, the Italian painter Gherardo Starnina is seen in him not without controversy . Comparable works were created by his Florentine contemporaries Lorenzo Monaco , Agnolo Gaddi and the master of the Madonna Straus .
