Meisterbäckerei Steinecke , also known as Brotmeisterei Steinecke , Bäcker Steinecke or Steinecke , is a large-scale bakery based in Mariental in Lower Saxony near Helmstedt and one of the leading baked goods chain stores in Germany.

The company was founded in 1945 by Erich Steinecke, who laid the foundation stone for today's large company in Groß Sisbeck . In the following years the production site was expanded to supply the Gifhorn, Peine, Hildesheim and Hanover area. Shops in Berlin have been selling Steinecke bread since 1965. A major fire in 1989 temporarily interrupted the company's long-term expansion.

In 1990 Steinecke took over a former state-owned company in Bernburg / Saale and converted and expanded it based on the model of the Mariental company. In the 1990s, the Berlin location was also expanded considerably and in 2003/2004 the “Die dufte Bäckerei” Haferkamp in Langwedel, which was about to go bankrupt, was taken over, so that the branch network in the greater Verden and Bremen area was consolidated.

After the product range had been expanded to include Mediterranean breads, organic products and snacks in previous years, roasted coffee and other coffee specialties have been offered since 2010. After the founder's death on August 14, 2010, Katrin Steinecke took over the traditional company.

The three production sites in Mariental, Berlin and Bernburg supply 657 branches (as of April 2018), which employ around 4,700 people.
