Maker's mark

A master mark denotes a with a punch embarked in a workpiece mark. It marked the manufacturer of a craft article of gold or silver or tin , as by the end of the guilds remained in use and is also used in today's arts and crafts. In Germany, goods made of silver, gold and platinum, if they are traded as such, do not have to be marked with the fineness or with the company or master stamp.
