The Mejlgade is a street in the center of Aarhus in the so-called Latin Quarter . It begins in the north at Østbanetorvet train station and extends for about 800 meters to Schulstrasse in the south. Formerly called "Hauptstraße", it got its current name around 1850.

The street is used by the private (!) Tram lines 3 and 14 and is home to numerous cafes, some cultural centers and the Frontløberne innovation center (“front runner”). The houses are built in different styles - from the late Gothic (house no. 25 from 1576) to the renaissance (no. 19) to postmodern buildings on Norreport-Strasse.

A special feature is the curved course, which follows the coastline and gives an idea of the early settlement by the Vikings (around 780), as well as the many inner courtyards in which there were stables or craftsmen used to work.
