The menhir of Llanfaethlu ( English Standing stone - also called Soar stone ) is a Bronze Age menhir southeast of Llanfaethlu, in the northwest of the island of Anglesey , in Powys in Wales .

The menhir is located immediately east of the A5025 road that connects Llanfaethlu with the village of Llanfachraeth. It stands in a field, next to a Baptist chapel ( Capel Soar ). The stone overgrown with lichen is 3.1 m high, 1.7 m wide and 40 cm thick.

Nearby is the Llynnon Mill .

Excavations that began in 2014 revealed four 4,000-year-old floor plans up to 21.6 m long for one of the first settlements on the island.
