The menhir of Rauischholzhausen (also called the thick stone or incorrectly also Judenstein ) is a prehistoric menhir near Rauischholzhausen , a district of Ebsdorfergrund in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district in Hesse .
location
The stone is located about 500 m south of Rauischholzhausen on a dirt road. It was originally located 200 m from here in the area of the Breitenborn desert and was perhaps built into the church there, similar to the menhir from Roßberg, just under 5 km away, or the menhir from Langenstein, 11 km away .
description
The menhir is made of basalt . It is angular and tapers towards the top. The stone has a height of 120 cm, a width of 110 cm and a thickness of 110 cm. Due to its secondary use, it has a bolt hole.
