Menhirs du Calvaire de Sion-les-Mines

The Menhirs du Calvaire de Sion-les-Mines stand next to the Calvary on the D1 about 1.3 km south of the town of Sion-les-Mines in the direction of Lusanger in the north of the Loire-Atlantique department in France .

The curious Calvary in the form of a tumulus is framed by two menhirs , including one made of white quartz . The stones come from the "Menhirs la Grée à Midi" and / or the "Dolmen de Pir-Han" (both in Sion-les-Mines).

Moving the menhirs is another form of Christianizing the megaliths.
