The Menster Ledge is a 1,800 m high road ratio in the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains . It is located 10 km southwest of Mount Olympus in the Hughes Basin . The step is 4 km wide and covered by a flat ice surface in the center and in the north. Its southern end is characterized by steeply sloping ice and rock cliffs.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 2001 after William Joseph Menster (1913-2007) of the United States Navy , commandant of the USS Mount Olympus in Operation Highjump (1946-1947).
