The mentis Verlag is a German academic publisher for the fields of philosophy and philology , based in Paderborn . On January 1, 2018, the publishing house became part of the Brill publishing house .

history

The publishing house was founded in October 1998 in Paderborn. He has been based in Münster since April 2012. With the takeover by Brill Germany, he moved back to Paderborn, where he will continue as an imprint .

Publishing program

The main focus of the publisher's program is the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of language in the tradition of analytical philosophy , applied ethics , the philosophy of art and literary studies . The published book series include the history of philosophy and logical analysis discussion forum | Logical Analysis and History of Philosophy , which publishes essays that reconstruct classical philosophical texts using modern logical analysis; nachGedacht - Modern classics , in which contemporary authors from the fields of philosophy and cognitive science are presented; Explicatio , in which books on literary theoretical topics appear in particular ; and the Poetogenesis series , which is dedicated to the biological and anthropological foundations of literature and art.

Mentis publications have also been appearing in e-book format since 2014 .
