Mentor Miftari (born April 4, 1971 in Kosovska Mitrovica , SFR Yugoslavia , today Kosovo ) is a former Albanian football player .

Club career

Mentor Miftari came to FC Erzgebirge Aue in 1995 from the first Macedonian league , which was playing in the Regionalliga Nordost at that time . After 4 years with Aue, the defender moved within the league, initially for one year to VFC Plauen and then to SV Babelsberg 03 . The Babelsbergers had qualified for the newly introduced two-track regional league. And although the team was traded as relegated before the season, Miftari and his team even made it to the 2nd Bundesliga . Once there, however, the complete slump followed and the Babelsbergs rose 22 points behind on a non-relegation place as the bottom of the table. Nevertheless, Miftari completed his only professional appearances in German football this season. After relegation, the Albanian moved to VfL Osnabrück , with whom he finished second in the regional league at the end of the season. But Miftari did not follow Osnabrück in the second division and went to VfB Leipzig in the fourth division. The Leipziger played their last season under this name and were then dissolved due to the pending bankruptcy proceedings. Then the Albanian went to former league rivals Hallescher FC , where he played one season. When SV YEŞILYURT ended Mentor Miftari his active career at the age of 34 years. As before in Babelsberg, Leipzig and Halle, his coach was called German Andrejew again .

Individual evidence

  1. The games of VfB Leipzig in the 2003/04 season were not included in the league ranking, as the club went bankrupt during the season
