The Mercanton Heights are a mountain range on the Loubet coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the southwestern part of the Arrowsmith Peninsula , it looms between the Bigourdan Fjord and the Nye Glacier .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a rough mapping based on surveys and aerial photographs from the years between 1948 and 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountains in 1960 after the Swiss glaciologist Paul-Louis Mercanton (1876–1963), long-time secretary of the International Commission on Snow and Ice .
