Mercedes Fernández
Mercedes Fernández (born December 3, 1980 ) is a former Argentine weightlifter .
She reached fifth place in the class up to 58 kg at the South American Championships in Santa Fe 2000 . In 2003 she was sixth in the class up to 63 kg at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo . At the world championships in Vancouver in the same year , she finished 23rd. In 2006, she was banned from the world association IMF until 2008 because of a doping violation .
