The Merckle GmbH is a German pharmaceutical company , headquartered in Blaubeuren . The company, which has been part of the Israeli Teva Group since 2010 , has production sites in Ulm and Blaubeuren.
history
The company was founded in 1881 in Aussig (Böhmen), now the Czech Republic , as a chemical wholesaler and was re-established by Ludwig Merckle in the Swabian town of Blaubeuren after the expropriation after the Second World War . In 1967 his son Adolf Merckle took over the management and founded the company Ratiopharm in 1973 , initially as a subsidiary of Merckle GmbH.
In 2004 Merckle Biotec GmbH for biopharmaceutical active ingredients was founded as a subsidiary. In 2005 the original products from Merckle GmbH such as Dolobe and Mirfulan were sold to Recordati Pharma GmbH .
From 2005 to 2010 the company operated as part of the Ratiopharm Group. Since 2010 it has belonged to Teva Pharmaceutical Industries together with Ratiopharm .
