Mercurius is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon . It lies north of the lava plain of Lacus Spei and west of the large Zeno crater . The wall is terraced and moderately eroded, the interior is flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after Mercurius , the messenger of the gods in Roman mythology.
