Mercy Adoma Owusu-Nimoh

Mercy Adoma Owusu-Nimoh (* in the 20th century ) is a children's book author and politician in Ghana . For her book The Walking Calabash and Other Stories from 1977 she was honored with the award of the Noma Prize for African Literature in 1980 (Honorable Mention). The award went to Mariama Bâ in the same year .

Owusu-Nimoh began her work as a teacher and principal of the Amma Nipaa Memorial Junior Secondary School in Kade in the Western Region of Ghana in 1978. She was also in Ghana in the Council of State (Ghana ), an important state organ in Ghana between Member in 1993 and 2001 under the administration of Jerry Rawlings .
