Meritar at a Beier Precisa

Meritar is a brand name of the Saxon lens manufacturer Ernst Ludwig from Lausa . Either three-lens Cooke triplets or four-lens lenses of the Tessar type were sold as meritare.

Typical Meritare 1: 3.5 / 75 can be found on the Precisa folding camera from the manufacturer Freitaler Kameraindustrie Beier & Co. or on the Weltaflex double-lens reflex camera from Welta . As a beginner lenses Meritare were in the second half of the 20th century, for example, in the of Beroflex successfully exported to West Germany miniature - Sucherkameras brand Beroquick installed.

The Meritare have the maximum aperture typical for Cooke triplets and Tessare of either 1: 3.5 or 1: 2.9 / 1: 2.8. Older lenses can also have a maximum aperture of 1: 4.5. The focal length ranges from 39-105 mm.
