Merlin Motors was an assembly plant for motor vehicles and thus part of the automotive industry in Ireland .

Company history

The company was founded in Dublin on March 9, 1959 . The former PR Reilly Limited building was moved into. In the same year the assembly of automobiles began. The parts came from Lloyd . Production ended in 1962. In 1963 new cars were still offered.

It is not known what the company did after that. It was only dissolved on January 17, 1989.

There was no connection to Hansa Motors , who also assembled Lloyd between 1952 and 1955.

The only model was the Lloyd Alexander TS . Only limousines have survived.

Production numbers

33 vehicles were built in 1959 and 70 in the following year. In 1961 there were 125 and in the last year of production 16 more vehicles. In total there are 244 vehicles.
