Mert Çakar (born April 26, 1992 in Bergama , İzmir ) is a Turkish football player.

Career

Çakar started playing football at Bergama Belediyespor , which is located in his hometown İzmir . He played there until the age of 15, before moving to Denizlispor's youth department . In 2011 he got his first professional contract with Denizlispor. In order to collect match practice, Çakar moved to Çamlıdere Şekerspor and also played in the third division, the TFF 3rd Lig . He stayed here for two seasons and moved to his previous club Denizlispor in the spring of 2013.

He made his debut in the Turkish second division in the 2012/13 season against TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor , when he came on in the 87th minute.
