Mert Gokmen

Mert Gökmen (* 18th February 1995 in Mannheim ) is a German R & B - singer and -Songschreiber with Turkish roots .

Career

Born and raised in Mannheim, he was influenced by music at a young age, according to his own statements. When he was 12 years old, his parents bought him a keyboard and an acoustic guitar because they noticed that he had a musical talent. A short time later he discovered his passion for singing, in 2011 he tried Germany sucht den Superstar , but he only succeeded until the pre-castings. After that he only released cover songs like Where do you want to go by Xavier Naidoo with which he gets some attention.

In 2017 he founded a band Soul Therapy , in which he himself took on the role of lead singer, but the band broke up in early 2018. Mert stopped making music for the time being until a few months later he met his current producer, Cali, and together they decided to try R&B in German. They released their first single Loyal & Ehrlich and continued to work constantly from then on. They later met their current video producer, Furkan Candan , who is still producing their videos. He achieved his first major success with his single Geh Mit Mir , which also made the label Sony Music Entertainment aware of him and signed him shortly afterwards.
