The artistic origin of Kranschach is unclear. Since his symbol is the rose, this suggests an apprenticeship in the hut of the Lords of Rosenberg in Krumau. After the death of Hans Puchsbaum, he led the construction of the Gothic Steyr parish church from 1454 to 1483 , first completed Puchsbaum's choir, probably worked on the nave and began building the Gothic tower. However, shortly before completion, it burned down in 1479. In 1482 he was accused of misappropriating funds intended for church building. He lost more wages, then he had journeymen; ... , as it was said in an anonymous letter posted to the town hall (Open note). The following year, Kranschach left Steyr - his track is lost. The successor in the construction of the Steyr parish church was Wolfgang Tenk .
