from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Metiochos ( ancient Greek Μητίοχος ) or Metichos ( ancient Greek Μήτιχος ) was possibly an ancient Greek Athenian controversial activity.

According to four different ancient sources, Metiochus is said to have been either the architect or the founder of a public building in Athens or a rhetorician. The sources are not clear as to which of these professions he practiced or whether he was active in all three. He is said to be in the 5th century BC. To have lived. In connection with Metiochos a courthouse is mentioned, the Metiocheion was called. Even the very existence of this building is unclear, whether it was named after Metiochus and whether he was the founder or architect and therefore gave it its name in honor of it is also unclear. As a rhetorician he is said to have had no good reputation.
