Evo is a board game by the French game designer Philippe Keyaerts , which was published in 2001 by Eurogames . The gameplay of the strategic game is focused on leading a herd of dinosaurs , the playing time is about 120 minutes.

Game flow

The principle of the game is to lead a herd of dinosaurs and guide them through different climates . In addition, conflicts arise from fellow players.

The game is played over several rounds, with the course of the rounds being divided into several phases. In the first phase the order of play is determined, in the second the climate (change), in the third you can move or fight if the target field is occupied. In phase four animals die or reproduce. Phase five initiates the round change and the gene auction. The most important phase here is round five, in which skills can be acquired for the further game.

Publication and editions

The game was developed by the game designer Philippe Keyaerts and was first published in 2001 by the French publisher Eurogames , which offered it in French, German and English. The game was offered by Jeux Descartes (now part of Asmodée) after the takeover of Eurogames. In 2004 a license edition in Russian was published by Smart Ltd.

Building on the Eurogames edition, Asmodée published a new edition, mainly graphically, in 2011, which was offered internationally in English, French, Italian (Asterion Press), Spanish and German.
