The Mevlana Mosque in Eppingen , a town in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg , was built from 1996 to 2003. The mosque is located in an industrial area at Ölmühlstrasse 6. It belongs to the umbrella organization Turkish-Islamic Union of the Institute for Religion (DITIB).

history

The mosque, which is named after the mystic and poet Jalal ad-Din ar-Rumi , was built by an association founded in 1983. In 1995 a piece of land was acquired and in 1996 the foundation stone was laid. In 2003, the outside of the building was completed, and two years later the interior was completed.

The mosque can accommodate up to 1,300 prayers. There is a parking area for around 100 vehicles on the property. The 15 meter high minaret has a diameter of two meters. The two domes are 13 and 11 meters in diameter. The building has a restaurant, meeting and conference rooms, leisure rooms, a shop and a library.
