Frunzik (Mger) Mušegovič Mkrtčjan (*) 4. July 1930 in Leninakan , Armenian SSR , USSR ; † December 29, 1993 in Yerevan , Armenia ) was a Soviet and Armenian theater and film actor of Armenian nationality .

Life

Mkrtchjan was born in Leninakan, today Gyumri , in Armenia. His nickname Frunsik resulted from his mother's admiration for the communist revolutionary leader Michail Frunze . He gained his first experiences with the theater during the rehearsals of the amateur drama group in the club of the local textile factory, where he also worked as an assistant for screen technology from 1945. From 1947 he was officially an actor in the Leninak City Theater "Mrawyan". From 1951 to 1956 he trained at the Yerevan Institute of Drama. After graduating from college in 1956, he was accepted into the drama group of the Academic Theater in Yerevan. At the same time, he began making the first film recordings. The first film with his participation V poiskach adresata , in German In search of the recipient ( Russian В поисках адресата ) was released in 1955. He showed particular talent in comedies and was known throughout the Soviet Union in particular through the film Mimino ( Russian Мимино ) in 1977. His fame even went so far that he could practically live without money in Armenia due to the constant invitations. But his personal life must be described as tragic. His three unhappy marriages, the mental illnesses of his second wife Donara and their son Wasgen and, last but not least, the death of their daughter Nune in a traffic accident, made him depressed and he gave himself up to alcohol. His brother is quoted as saying that he consciously sought death because he did not seem to find happiness in life. His brother found him dead in his home in Yerevan on December 29, 1993. The funeral on December 31, 1993 met with great sympathy from the Armenian population.
