Michał Cichy

Michał Cichy (* 1967 in Warsaw ) is a Polish writer and publicist .

Life

Cichy attended high school in Warsaw and studied after high school history and art history at the University of Warsaw , but only his studies ended the story. While still a student, he was employed by Grzegorz Lindenberg as an editorial assistant for the newly founded newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza , where he headed the cultural section from 1993 to 1998. In addition, he was co-founder and secretary of the Nike Literature Prize from 1997 to 2002 . He also worked for several years with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum , for which he conducted interviews with Polish contemporary witnesses.

As a writer, he made his debut in 2014 with the book Zawsze jest dzisiaj , for which he was awarded the Gdynia Literature Prize in 2015 .
