Michael's Grave
Michael's Grave (also St Michael's Grave) is the remnant of a Clyde Tomb on the northwest coast of the Isle of Bute in Bute , Scotland . The megalithic complex is located near Buttock Point , on the edge of a terrace, 500 m south of Kilmichael Farm. The hill has been greatly reduced by plowing and measures only 10.5 × 7.2 m and is less than a meter high.
The remainder of the gallery, made up of two chambers, is 4.9 m long and 0.9 to 1.5 m high. The chambers are full of mud and debris due to the slope of the site. The excavation carried out in 1903 showed that the chamber floor was covered with a layer of black earth and charcoal .
The finds consisted of fragments of unadorned pottery and a lump of pitch stone . Other finds such as shards, flint fragments, fragments of burned human bones, a pig's tooth and cattle bones were lost.
