Michael B. Tretow

Michael B. Tretow (born August 20, 1944 in Östra Eneby near Norrköping ) is a Swedish music producer , sound engineer and musician.

Tretow had been an employee of the Swedish record and music publisher Polar Music since the late 1960s . He became known and successful in particular as the main responsible and executive studio sound engineer and sound developer for all titles and music productions of the Swedish pop group ABBA . At first he accompanied ABBA as a sound engineer at their performances and live concerts. Musically he is considered to be the “fifth member” of this band and was given a percentage of the royalties for the last ABBA albums and singles from 1980 as a thank you and recognition for his many years of creative work for the band . After ABBA ended, he worked on various solo projects by the former ABBA members. Later he also worked as a music producer for various other Swedish and international artists.
