Michael Barkun

Michael Barkun (born April 8, 1938 ) is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University , New York .

Barkun writes on millenarianism , political extremism and (earlier) international law . He is considered an expert on the Christian identity movement .

For his work "Religion and the racist right", Prof. Barkun was awarded the Myers Center Award ; The laudation read literally "[for] ... outstanding work on intolerance in North America".
