Michael Caplan

Michael Caplan (* 1953 ) is a British Crown Attorney (QC) and part-time judge (recorder) at the Crown Court .

Caplan studied law at King's College London , which he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Associate of King's College (AKC). Since 1978 he has been working as a solicitor at Kingsley Napley's law firm in London, where he became a partner in 1982. After a change in the law in 1990, he also worked as a solicitor advocate in court. In 2002, he was one of the few solicitors to be appointed crown lawyer . Until 2003 he was chairman of the Solicitors' Association of Higher Court Advocates (SAHCA).

He lives in London and represented Augusto Pinochet and now Kate and Gerry McCann .
