Michael Clasen

Michael Clasen (born July 31, 1971 in Flensburg ) is a German economist and professor for business informatics at the University of Hanover .

Life

Clasen studied business administration at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel , where he graduated in 1998 with a degree in business administration. This was followed by a job as a consultant and software developer at SAP in Walldorf . In 2001 Clasen moved to the Agricultural Faculty of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, where he received his PhD in 2005 sc. agr. received his doctorate . He then worked in the standardization of supply chains at GS1 Germany. In 2008 he accepted a professorship for business informatics at the vocational academy of the Schleswig-Holstein business academy in Kiel. In 2010 he was offered a W2 professorshipfor business informatics with a focus on electronic business at the University of Hanover. In 2018, Clasen completed a degree in philosophy at the Distance University in Hagen with a Master of Arts degree .

His work focuses on agricultural informatics , economic effects of new technologies and standardization. From 2010 to 2014 Clasen was 1st Chairman of the Society for Computer Science in Agriculture, Forestry and Food Sector (GIL) and from 2017 to 2019 President of the European Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture (EFITA). Clasen also works in an advisory capacity under the company eSimplexity and gives guest lectures.
