Michael Cathedral

Michael Theophilus Dom (born November 1977 in Port Moresby , Papua New Guinea ) is a contemporary poet from Papua New Guinea.

Life

Michael Dom studied agricultural science at the University of Papua New Guinea and now works as an agricultural scientist.

As a poet he has published many poems in newspapers and among other things writes sonnets . In 2012 he received the Crocodile Price , the most important literary prize in the country, in the poetry category. That also earned him a meeting with Minister Leon Dion . In 2013 his first own volume of poems and his winning poem appeared in the anthology of the winning texts of the Crocodile Prize.

He lives in the Lae Morobe Province. Along with Russell Soaba, he is the most important writer in Papua New Guinea.
