Michael Feinig

Michael Feinig (born September 22, 1883 in Suetschach ; † February 14, 1932 ) was an Austrian politician ( Landbund ), farmer and sawmill owner. From 1925 to 1932 he was a member of the Carinthian state parliament .

Feinig attended the agricultural school and the forestry school in Klagenfurt and subsequently took over an agricultural business in St. Anger near Völkermarkt . In 1916 he also expanded his business to include a sawmill and a timber trade. Feinig was active in the Landbund and acted as its chairman of the Völkermarkt district organization. He also worked as mayor of the municipality of Sankt Peter am Wallersberg . In May 1925 he replaced Thomas Puschl, who had resigned, as a member of the Carinthian state parliament, where he worked on the complaints committee, later also on the constitution and immunity committee and the school committee. He died on February 14, 1932 while exercising his office as a member of the state parliament and was subsequently buried in the St. Agnes local cemetery. Feinig left a wife and was the father of at least one child. According to a newspaper report, over a thousand people were present at his funeral, including Governor Ferdinand Kernmaier and National Council President Stephan Tauschitz . In the funeral speech, Feinig was recognized for his services to agriculture as well as his commitment to the cooperative system and his commitment to professional representation.
