Michael Funken (politician)

Michael Funken (born December 25, 1922 in Mönchengladbach ; † February 23, 2006 ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school , Funken continued his education at the railway technical school, a textile engineering school and through distance learning in business administration. He also completed an apprenticeship in textiles. After the Reich Labor Service and military service , Funken worked in the telegraph maintenance service for the Federal Railroad and as a textile foreman. He was the managing director of a non-profit housing company.

Funken became a member of the CDU in 1947. He was represented on numerous party bodies.

From July 26, 1970 to May 27, 1975, Funken was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in constituency 033 Mönchengladbach I. He was a member of the city ​​council of Mönchengladbach from 1954.
