Michael Howard, 21st Earl of Suffolk

Michael John James George Robert Howard, 21st Earl of Suffolk, 14th Earl of Berkshire (born March 27, 1935 ), known under the courtesy title of Viscount Andover until 1941 , is an English peer and politician.

He is the son of Charles Howard, 20th Earl of Suffolk and his wife Mimi Forde-Pigott. On the death of his father, who was fatally injured while trying to defuse a bomb, he inherited his title in 1941. A hereditary seat in the House of Lords was associated with the titles until the House of Lords Act 1999 came into force .

He currently lives in Charlton Park near Malmesbury , Wiltshire .

Marriages and offspring

Michael Howard was married three times.

On October 1, 1960, he married Simone Litman. The marriage ended in divorce in 1967. With her he had a daughter:

  • Lady Lucinda Howard (* 1961; † 1962)

On September 22nd, 1973 he married Anita Fugelsang. The marriage was divorced in 1980, she married Charles Stanhope, 12th Earl of Harrington, a second marriage . He has two children with her:

  • Alexander Charles Michael Winston Robsahm Howard, Viscount Andover (* 1974)
  • Lady Katherine Emma Frances Robsahm Howard (* 1976)

On December 15, 1983, he married Linda Jacqueline Paravicini (who was first married to Alexander Hood, 4th Viscount Bridport ), with whom he has two children:

  • Lady Philippa Mimi Jacqueline Henrietta Howard (* 1985)
  • Lady Natasha Rose Catherine Linda Howard (* 1987)
